Marriage is officially over for Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Porsha Williams and her now ex-husband, Simon Guobadia.

The drama between Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams and her ex-husband Simon Guobadia is far from over. In a bombshell interview with People, Porsha peeled back the curtain on their whirlwind romance, revealing she once saw Simon as her “safety net” until his legal troubles turned their marriage into a real-life thriller.

Porsha and Simon went public in 2021, just weeks after he split from her former co-star Falynn Pina. The fast-track romance raised eyebrows from day one, but that didn’t stop them from tying the knot in not one but two extravagant ceremonies in 2022: one Nigerian celebration honoring Simon’s roots and a glamorous Atlanta affair that had the whole Bravo fan base talking.

“I’m a true hopeless romantic,” Porsha confessed. “Once I decide to be with you, I dedicate everything to you.”

And that she did. Porsha said Simon gave her the sense of stability she craved. With their 17-year age gap, she believed he was “settled,” “grown,” and had worked through his past. She trusted him. She felt protected. She thought she found her person.

According to Porsha, everything shifted when she uncovered “complex” issues surrounding Simon’s immigration status. That’s when things went from luxury jet-setting to full-blown crisis mode.

“I hired an immigration attorney in January,” she revealed. “I wanted to deal with it head-on, like a supportive wife. I begged him not to leave the country.”

Simon apparently didn’t listen. And by Valentine’s Day, what should’ve been a night of roses and champagne turned into what Porsha now calls “the point of no return.”

“There was paperwork that needed handling, and I brought in my own attorneys,” she explained. “That was frowned upon. He didn’t even have to say anything. It was the look. I just knew the man I fell for wasn’t there anymore.”

Eight days later, she filed for divorce.

As for Simon? He’s telling his own version of the story.

In a separate interview with Page Six, Simon said he “absolutely regrets” the marriage and claimed Porsha targeted him “for financial reasons.” He even went as far as calling their relationship a “$5 million rehab project.”

“This felt like a coup. I was totally blindsided,” Simon claimed, adding that Porsha refused to explain why she wanted out and ignored his attempts to reach her family.

Simon’s immigration issues came to a head earlier this year when it was revealed that he had been deported back to Nigeria following serious allegations, including bank and credit card fraud. According to court documents, Porsha was made aware of the situation and sought legal guidance to protect herself and her future.
