In a recent interview with Univision’s “Primer Impacto”, Francia addressed the speculation but maintained a dignified tone. When asked about potential tensions between her and Selena due to the singer’s smoking habits, Francia dismissed those claims as nonsense, stating, “Right now, what you’re asking me is nonsense… There are too many rumors.” She further clarified that she wasn’t aware of any conflict, saying, “What you’re asking me are rumors. No one knows what’s going on, and neither she nor I are talking about it. One day, maybe we will address it.”
Despite her graceful response, fans couldn’t help but read between the lines. Francia confirmed that she was aware of Selena’s wedding and expressed happiness for her, but her tone suggested that their bond may not be as strong as it once was. “I know she’s getting married, and I’m very happy for her,” she said. “She has a life, and she’s already a billionaire. I’m grateful that I could do that for her.”
It’s worth noting that the friendship between the two women has had its challenges over the years. Though they appeared to be reconciling in 2023, when Selena shared a heartfelt birthday message for Francia and Francia attended Selena’s Rare Impact Fund Benefit. At the time, Francia mentioned to Extra TV, “We trauma-bonded, which is beautiful, but also it can get rocky and tricky. People grow, and relationships change.”
