Warner Bros. Pictures has just announced that they have remade The Color Purple, the 1985 classic that brought viewers on a journey of love, self-transformation and healing.
The 2023 remake will feature some of Hollywood’s biggest A-listers, including Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins, H.E.R., Halle Bailey, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Fantasia Barrino, who critics say gave riveting performances that will enchant and captivate audiences around the world.
From the impeccable creative direction of Dan Laustsen to the breathtaking set production provided by Paul Denham Austerberry and the remarkable editing of Jon Poll, each scene brings together a wide range of expert film extraordinaires to recreate a once-in-a-life experience. Fatima Robinson was tapped to choreograph the film, weaving both history and modernity to portray each character in the movie.
The legendary Francine Jamison-Tanchuck was named the movie’s costume designer, who effortlessly submerges viewers in the time and place of the story while Jordan Carroll and Morgan Rhodes serve as the music supervisors, who compiled a soundtrack that flawlessly balances the film’s emotive range. Kris Bowers composed the melody of the movie, using a classic approach of songs that serve as the foundation of the unwavering emotional elements of the film while adding depth in a way never done before.
Nick Baxter, Stephen Bray, and Blitz Bazawule are the film’s executive music producers, imbuing the film with gusto, charm and cinematic proficiency while ensuring the music plays a significant role in the movie.
