Candace Owens Claims ‘Christian Holocaust’ Is Largely Ignored

by Gee NY

Candace Owens recently asserted that a “Christian holocaust” is occurring globally and being overlooked by the media.

The conservative commentator, who recently converted to Catholicism, shared her perspective during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

In the interview, Morgan questioned Owens on her initial silence regarding Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack on southern Israel, which resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths and 250 hostages.

Owens condemned the attack as “absolutely horrific” but maintained that the U.S. should not intervene in Israeli matters. She criticized Israel for “supplying the arms to murder Christians in Armenia.”

Owens expressed frustration over what she perceives as biased media coverage.

“For whatever reason, it seems to be the circumstance that when Jewish people die in Israel, it’s wall-to-wall coverage, but when Christians die all over the world, nobody talks about it,” she stated.

She stated that while World War II atrocities, including Adolf Hitler’s actions, are rightfully discussed, other historical and ongoing persecutions, such as those perpetrated by the Bolsheviks and the treatment of Christians in Armenia, are ignored.

The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh, with support from Israel and Turkey for Azerbaijan, has been a flashpoint.

Owens criticized the media for not addressing the “slaughter of Christians in Armenia” and suggested a bias in coverage favoring Israel.

Owens’ comments have sparked controversy, particularly within conservative circles. She parted ways with the Daily Wire in March due to differing views on the Israel-Hamas conflict with Ben Shapiro, the platform’s editor emeritus.

Shapiro publicly criticized Owens’ stance on the issue as “disgraceful.”

Despite backlash, Owens continues to advocate for equal attention to Christian persecution worldwide. She urged Christians to speak up, stating:

“We are the number one most persecuted religion in the world. It’s time to start speaking up because we have been silenced about the things that are happening to us for a very long time.”

In response to Shapiro’s criticism, Owens expressed a desire for civil disagreement among colleagues and stated that she was open to differing opinions.
