A former friend of rapper T.I. and his wife Tiny is being sued after the couple say they racked up an exorbitant amount of legal fees after defending themselves from accusations she made about them.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline, T.I. (Clifford Harris) and Tiny (Tameka Harris) are demanding Sabrina Peterson cough up $164,650.56 in expenses after a messy legal dispute in which she accused the couple of what they said was a coordinated harassment attack.
In 2021, Peterson sued the couple for defamation, claiming the two tarnished her image and left her reputation in the pits. Before the lawsuit, the three were friends, but Peterson said their relationship went left after T.I. put a gun to her head, threatening to kill her. She added that the melee ensued after getting into an argument with T.I.’s assistant.
“B*tch, I’ll kill you,” she claims the Atlanta rapper said at the time of the alleged assault. She also said she had “over 100 women” who were ready to come out against T.I. and created a “Surviving T.I.” hashtag on social media.
At the time, Peterson said after the alleged incident, Tiny posted an image of Peterson’s 8-year-old son with a caption that read: “Hold up …. So you want your abuser to train your son … now when did you say my husband assaulted you? Did you change your mind or change it back? What’s up wit you today Pooh? I’m confused. Stop harassing my family. You strange. Everybody know you been special. Please Get help.”
In the lawsuit, Peterson says she was continuously harassed by the couple and sued requesting damages for defamation.
But T.I. has since come out to say that Peterson’s reputation was damaged before speaking about her. His attorney, Andrew Brettler described Peterson as, “an adjudged liar, a convicted felon with a lengthy rap sheet for crimes involving dishonesty and violent assault, and has a reputation for being unscrupulous.”
“The Harrises’ request for $164,650.56 in attorneys’ fees and costs is reasonable and in line with fee awards regularly affirmed in this district. Given the complexity of the legal issues, the time necessary to adjudicate Peterson’s seven causes of action over a two-year period, and the additional costs of appeal, the amount requested should be awarded in full,” the couple’s lawyer wrote.
