After years of 8 years of marriage, Tina Knowles and actor Richard Lawson have officially finalized their divorce. Beyoncé’s mother has agreed to a financial settlement that includes a $300,000 lump sum payment to Lawson.
The renowned fashion designer asked the court to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support to neither her nor 76-year-old Lawson and restore her name to Celestine Knowles.
According to court documents publicized in July 2023, Tina Knowles, formerly Tina Knowles-Lawson, cited irreconcilable differences.
However, some believe that the “Saints & Sinners” actor’s alleged appetite for adult content contributed to the breakdown of his marriage. As news of the divorce spread, so did a viral conversation about Richard’s Twitter likes.
Apparently, Lawson tapped the heart icon on so many X-rated tweets that the content is allegedly from 2020, and he eventually had to deactivate his account because he was receiving attention for all the wrong reasons.
Updated court documents report that Ms Tina has finally submitted the agreement that covers all outstanding issues. Both parties have agreed that “irreconcilable differences have arisen between the parties which have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage, making it impossible for the parties to live together as husband and wife.”
As a result of their settlement and agreed-upon terms, Ms Tina got a 2018 Tesla, a 2020 Bentley, the Matriarch Book partnership with Penguin Random House, a one-percent interest in Kirby Beauty Management LLC, furniture and art in her possession, and all creative works, ideas, drafts, and materials that she generated during their marriage.
Richard Lawson’s awards included a 2021 Cadillac Escalade, various bank and retirement accounts, all money owed to Richard Lawson Studios, earned royalties, and all his creative works created during the marriage.
Tina Knowles will at least keep her Los Angeles home and belongings.
The former couple married in 2015 in a celebration on the water, including his daughter, actress Bianca Lawson, Beyoncé, Jay-Z and their daughter Blue Ivy, Solange and son Julez (and her ex-husband Alan Ferguson), and many other celebrity guests.
