What should have been a day of celebration became a mother’s worst nightmare. On May 24, 2025, Johnisha Hillard’s birthday, her son Jordan Neal was shot in St. Louis City.
He passed away the next day from a gunshot wound to the torso. Four months later, Hillard says she is still waiting for answers.
Authorities confirmed that investigators identified the suspect vehicle connected to Neal’s killing, but no arrests have been made, according to the mother. The case remains unsolved, leaving Hillard and her family in anguish as they push for accountability.

Taking to social media, Hillard shared a raw and emotional video describing her struggle to get attention on her son’s case.
“We call the detectives, we text the detectives, we tell them where we see these cars… there’s no vehicle poster, there’s nothing about Jordan,” she said, her voice breaking. “Every time I ask for an update, it’s a problem. My baby’s gone, and we’re still waiting.”
Hillard said the trauma has left her family in fear.
“My kids don’t want to go outside. They want the windows boarded up. They don’t even like going in cars,” she explained. “The killer could be anywhere.”
The grieving mother also revealed that one of her other sons was shot in a separate incident, compounding her family’s pain. Despite her repeated calls, texts, and even supporters going to city hall to press officials, Hillard claims she has received little support from investigators.
What Hillard wants is not sympathy, but justice. She is pleading with the community for help — for anyone with information to come forward and ensure her son’s death does not remain unsolved.
“I don’t want pity. I just want the truth,” she said.
Jordan Neal lived with cerebral palsy and other health challenges from birth, but his mother said he was a fighter — and she is determined to fight for him now.
