Political commentator and podcast host Danielle Moodie (@deetwocents) is sounding the alarm about what she calls “a new phase in the Trump regime takeover of the United States.”
In a viral Instagram post captioned “We’ve reached another phase of this regime. Pay attention and get organized,” Moodie urges Americans to take seriously the president’s rhetoric about invoking the Insurrection Act and escalating law enforcement aggression against civilians.
In her video message, Moodie draws a chilling picture of what she believes to be an authoritarian turn in the U.S. government.
“We have absolutely reached a next phase in the Trump regime takeover,” she begins, warning that the administration’s open discussion of the Insurrection Act signals a shift toward militarized control. She points to multiple viral videos from Chicago showing alleged ICE officers “macing white women in the face” and even assaulting “a white pastor in his collar.” Moodie claims that in predominantly Black communities like South Shore, ICE raids have led to detentions, family separations, and even missing children — actions she likened to “operations in Iraq or Afghanistan.”
Moodie’s message intensifies as she points to how some detained individuals are being deported to African countries through what she describes as “trafficking” agreements.
Her broader point: the erosion of civil liberties will not stop with marginalized communities.
“If you are Black, if you are brown, it does not matter if you are a citizen… this administration will disappear you,” she warns, before cautioning that wealth and whiteness will not protect anyone indefinitely.
Drawing parallels to historic authoritarian crackdowns, Moodie insists that “this is not a what-if situation.” She references the Trump campaign’s rhetoric about “insurrection” and “terrorists,” calling it “the setup” for the justification of martial law.
“Once martial law is declared… we will run out of opportunities to push back,” she says. “It is happening. Everything that many people said would happen is happening.”
Moodie closes her message with an urgent call to action:
“It is time to get organized. It is time to have your go bags. It is time to take care of yourself and your neighbors.”
The post has sparked widespread discussion online, with supporters echoing her warnings about rising authoritarianism and critics dismissing her claims as alarmist.
