Fave is trending over the new color of her skin. The Nigerian singer has found herself at the center of a heated online debate after fans began comparing old and recent photos, accusing her of bleaching.
The conversation picked up steam when two images started circulating side by side. One shows Fave in a green outfit in 2023, performing her breakout hit “I Belong to You.” The other shows her more recent look, dressed in red, with a noticeably lighter complexion.
The difference sparked commentary almost instantly.
TikTok timelines filled up. X followed. And soon enough, Fave herself responded.
In a video shared on X, the singer addressed the accusations head-on, brushing them off with humor and confidence.
“Bleaching allegations on TikTok?” she said. “Abeg, some of una no sabi wetin good life glow look like.”
But the fans were not letting it go.
Under posts discussing her transformation, reactions poured in fast and loud. Some questioned her explanation outright. Others turned the conversation into a broader debate about wealth, colorism, and beauty standards in the industry.
One fan wrote,
“This is not glow life …. This is pure bleaching. In fact, you’ve washed away ur first body layer.”
Another comment took aim at the idea that money alone could explain such a drastic change.
“Kante lives in France and makes more in a week than you make in a year, and yet he still has his dark complexion, but here you are forming ‘I get money, that’s why I am pale in colour’ So you get money, pas Burnaboy, Wizkid, and Davido?”
Fans continued naming celebrities who live lavish lives yet have maintained their natural skin tones.
“You dey live good life pass Tiwa? Or Davido’s Chioma? People way dey inside private jet all the time, dey go overseas come back like weekly, still maintain beautiful brown skin as it should be. Na only you dey fade as you dey live life good? Soon you go vanish for eye.”
“Sorry, it’s not a good life, you just bleached.”
Others leaned into sarcasm.
“You’re becoming transparent, baby.”
And some simply questioned her denial.
“So you nor de rub any cream na good life glow only? Like your skin becomes this way cos of the good life that you’ve never had?”
Still, amid the backlash, most people seemed to agree that Fave looks good whether the change came from skincare, lighting, lifestyle, or something else entirely.
