Megan Thee Stallion has announced an early exit from Moulin Rouge! The Musical, stepping away from the Broadway show weeks ahead of schedule following an emotional stretch that has included a health scare and a public breakup with Klay Thompson.

The Grammy-winning artist, 31, had been cast as Harold Zidler in the production at New York’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre and was originally set to continue her run through May 17. She confirmed via Instagram that her final performance will now take place on May 1, bringing her time with the show to a close earlier than expected.

In her announcement, Megan described her experience on Broadway as meaningful, thanking the cast and production team while reflecting on her time with the show. She did not provide a specific reason for her departure, though the news arrived during a period marked by both personal and physical challenges.

In late March, Megan was forced to leave the stage during a performance after experiencing a medical scare. She later shared that she had been feeling faint and attempted to push through before ultimately stepping away. She described the moment as frightening, explaining that she had been running on empty before her body signaled it needed rest.

The early exit also follows her recent split from Thompson, a four-time NBA champion now playing for the Dallas Mavericks. Megan addressed the breakup in a now-deleted Instagram Stories post, where she accused him of cheating and questioned his commitment to monogamy. In the message, she referenced the emotional toll of the relationship, noting that she had supported him through difficult periods during his basketball season.

While Megan did not directly connect her Broadway departure to the breakup, the timing has drawn attention, with fans pointing to both her recent health concerns and personal life developments.

Her run in Moulin Rouge! marked a notable moment in her career as she stepped onto the Broadway stage, adding a new dimension to her work beyond music. Now, with her final performance set for early May, the focus shifts to what comes next as she steps away from the production.
