What really happened to hairstylist Alice Dimplz at the prestigious WIBA Awards in France?

Imagine flying across the world for your big moment, only to receive your award in an empty room while people laugh at you. That’s what went down at Cannes’ prestigious WIBA Awards, where viral hairstylist Alice Dimplz was allegedly treated like an afterthought, and her emotional video exposing the incident has caused the internet to rage.

This “Best Content Creator” was flown to Cannes, only to be reportedly humiliated when she was given her well-deserved trophy after everyone else had already left the room.

Alice Dimplz, a talented hairstylist and content creator, was invited to the seventh annual WIBA Awards, held on May 23, 2025, at the iconic Hôtel Martinez during the Cannes Film Festival. This prestigious event celebrates social media personalities making a global impact, bringing together hundreds of leading creators behind the year’s most viral moments. Guests were treated to an elegant evening with a cocktail reception, a Gala Dinner, and a dazzling Awards ceremony, even featuring an exceptional performance from Panjabi MC.

But for Alice, the night took a devastating turn. She shared her heartbreak in a video, explaining, “So, you guys, I was invited to France. I’m here right now in Cannes. And I was selected for the WIBA Award. They invited me in to come and collect my award just to basically value me for being the Best Content Creator”. She continued, “I really didn’t want to make this video. But at the end of the day, I feel like when something is wrong, it’s wrong. When something is good, it’s good.”

Here’s where it gets truly upsetting: Apparently, the organizers gave everyone else their awards, and they even had a group photoshoot. But then, after the event was over and the hall was also empty, someone from the team called Alice back to give her her award, with absolutely no explanation.

Alice emphasized the personal sacrifice she made to be there. “Basically, I actually left my family and my children all the way back in the USA, and I flew to France because I was selected to come in and collect my award. But unfortunately, the way things went. It was not okay,” she concluded. “I don’t even know how to explain it to you guys, but those of you who have been watching me know how my energy is. And if I can’t share my energy with you, it means my heart just fell apart. I left everything. I left my business. Canceled my appointments… to be embarrassed in front of people.”

The WIBA Awards are overseen by the World Influencers Association (WIBA) based in Monaco, and they pride themselves on being the first and only international award honoring social media personalities across multiple categories. This year, they awarded international celebrities and extraordinary personalities such as Jodok Vuille, Mara Lafontan, Patricia Bright, Jessica de Oliveira, Jasmin Gassmann, Argy, Misha Miller, and others. The coveted 2025 Grand Prix WIBA title went to Panda Boi, an Italy-based YouTuber with over 71 million followers on social media.

So, why was Alice Dimplz, a “Best Content Creator,” seemingly singled out and humiliated in this way? Fans are demanding answers.
