Beyoncé is sparking conversation after revealing she does not use relaxers, sharing that heat protection is central to her hair care routine as she introduces a new styling collection under her CÉCRED brand.

The latest release from CÉCRED focuses on versatile styling, offering products designed to achieve looks ranging from voluminous blowouts to sleek, glass-like finishes, along with heatless curls, braid-outs, and slick styles. The collection is powered by what the brand calls its StemShield Complex, formulated to protect hair from heat up to 450 degrees, as well as humidity, pollution, and damage caused by frequent styling.

For Beyoncé, the development process extended beyond controlled environments and into real-world conditions. She said the products were tested throughout her Cowboy Carter Tour, where high temperatures, intense lighting, and long performances placed consistent demands on her hair. She described the heat on stage as significant, noting that maintaining style without weighing the hair down required formulas that could perform under pressure.

She explained that the collection was the result of years of experimentation, shaped by trial and error while working to meet her personal hair care needs. Beyoncé said she tested the products on herself and her daughters across different styling methods, including blow dries, silk presses, and braid-outs. Some of the formulations were used as early as 2024, including during her Super Bowl appearance.

Beyoncé’s haircare brand, CÉCRED, announces their styling collection, available from March 19th

The singer emphasized that avoiding relaxers has made heat protection a priority in her routine. She said the products were created to address challenges she experienced while touring, particularly the need for styles to hold up through changing weather conditions such as rain, humidity, and extreme heat. According to Beyoncé, maintaining hair health while achieving long-lasting styles during three-hour performances was a key factor in shaping the line.

The announcement quickly drew reactions from fans across social media, with many weighing in on her comments about relaxers and heat styling. Some users shared their own hair care preferences, noting that different methods work for different people, while others praised the condition of Beyoncé’s hair and the performance of CÉCRED products. Others pointed out that she has previously discussed her approach to hair care, including her preference for alternatives to chemical relaxing.

The CÉCRED styling collection is set to launch on March 19 through the brand’s website, with a broader retail rollout scheduled for April at Ulta Beauty.
