Tameka Foster Raymond, the former wife of r&b megastar Usher Raymond, will be giving her side of the story of her ill-fated marriage in an upcoming memoir.
According to a press release, in “Here I Stand . . . in a Beautiful State,” Foster aims to clear up any untruths about her career, her marriage to Usher, and her son’s tragic death in 2012.
“After several years of contemplating writing about her life, she decided to write a book after having a conversation with three women on a beach in Bali,” the press release reads. “As they spoke, they learned who Raymond’s ex-husband was and they were insistent there was no way she could be who she said she was because his wife had died.”
The press release continues, “They were referring to her near-death experience in Brazil, which has been grossly misreported in the media. After that hilarious and memorable conversation on the beach, Raymond knew she had to write a book. It was time to clear up all the rumors and outright lies about her fashion career, her marriage, and her parenting.”
Foster speaks candidly about her growing up as a child in Oakland, her childhood influences, her very public marriage, and even the heartbreak of losing her 11-year-old son, Kile.
While Foster is now primarily known in the blogs for her high-profile marriage, the stylist has an impressive resume. She has worked with pretty much everyone in the industry including, Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan, Jay-Z, Toni Braxton, Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, Chris Tucker, Ciara, Keri Hilson, Maxwell, The Fugees, Nas, Dr. Dre and more.
