Singer and songwriter DaniLeigh is opening up about a personal transformation she says came after strengthening her relationship with God. The 30-year-old artist recently shared a video reflecting on the changes in her life, crediting her spiritual journey for what she describes as a glow up rooted in faith, healing, and renewal.
In the video posted to social media, DaniLeigh contrasts moments from her life before she deepened her relationship with God with scenes from her life today. Earlier clips show the singer smoking, partying, dancing provocatively, and sitting alone in her car in tears as she battled depression. The later scenes present a different picture. DaniLeigh is shown focusing on healthier routines, including eating better and spending time in the gym, while appearing more at peace and visibly happier.
She captioned the video with a reflection on how much her life has changed. “Before Him, I was someone else. Looking back, I barely recognize that girl, but I’m super grateful for every place I once regretted because those moments led me straight to Him. Don’t be afraid to share your testimony. GOD OVER DESIRES will always win,” she wrote.
The singer also revealed that her renewed faith recently led to a significant milestone. DaniLeigh shared that she was baptized during a service at Vous Church. In the Instagram post announcing the moment, she explained that the baptism took place on the birthday of her late father, giving the day even deeper meaning for her and her family.
“The day my father was born is now the day my mom and I are reborn,” she wrote, thanking Jesus while reflecting on the loss of her father. She described the moment as a public declaration of her faith and a way of honoring his memory.
DaniLeigh has previously spoken about how strengthening her faith has affected her outlook on life. In a video shared last year, she encouraged her fans to explore their own relationship with God while explaining how her spiritual growth helped her rebuild her self-esteem.
“I haven’t felt like I’ve loved myself in probably the last four or five years,” she said in the clip. She explained that as she began attending church regularly, participating in Bible study, and committing to spiritual discipline, she started to see herself differently. According to the singer, the shift helped her feel more confident and at peace.
She also said the journey became especially meaningful as she navigated grief after losing her father. Growing closer to God, she shared, brought comfort during that difficult period and helped her rediscover joy.
Born Danielle Leigh Curiel in Miami, DaniLeigh entered the entertainment industry as a dancer before launching her music career. She worked early on with artists such as Pharrell Williams and Nelly Furtado, eventually catching the attention of Prince. The legendary artist mentored her and selected her to direct his “Breakfast Can Wait” music video when she was just 18 years old.
DaniLeigh later signed with Def Jam Recordings and built a following with music that blends R&B, hip-hop, and Latin influences. Now, as she continues her career, the singer is also sharing a more personal side of her life, highlighting the role faith has played in shaping her recent transformation.
