‘I Am Truly Emotionally Drained’: Jasmine Crockett Decries ‘Broken’ System But Vows Fight Amid Political Turmoil

by Gee NY

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) has laid bare the emotional toll of the current political climate, describing herself as “hurt & angry, yet ready for the fight of our generation.”

In a raw and unfiltered social media post that moved back and forth between a rant and a rallying cry, Rep Crockett offers a stark glimpse into the mounting pressure on lawmakers and the escalating political battles defining the nation’s capital.

“I am truly emotionally drained,” Crockett confessed in a video accompanying her Facebook post, her voice etched with fatigue. She spoke of “chaotic” and “long” days, expressing frustration that many may not grasp “how bad these things are.”

The congresswoman’s exhaustion, however, is punctuated by a steely resolve.

She spoke about her ongoing campaign for a caucus leadership position—the “oversight ranking position”—as a quest for greater authority to wage a necessary fight.

“I absolutely believe that I think outside the box,” Crockett stated, “and I think… I know that this moment requires out of the box because nothing that is happening right now is normal.”

A Litany of Grievances: From Tourism to Arrests

Crockett’s concerns quickly moved from the personal to the political, outlining a series of what she characterized as the Trump administration’s failures. She pointed to economic fallout, citing estimates of over $12 billion in lost tourism revenue for 2025 and a 40% drop in travel from Canada.

But the core of her anger was reserved for the administration’s immigration enforcement tactics and its treatment of political figures. She argued that international visitors “don’t feel unsafe because of the immigrants,” but because of seeing “ICE officers in masks that are grabbing people up off the streets.”

Her rhetoric intensified as she listed a series of actions she views as a dangerous escalation: the threatening of members of Congress, the arrest of a mayor, the indictment of a sitting member of Congress, and the recent manhandling of a senator.

“We are less than six months in and everything that could be broken in my mind is already broken,” she declared, placing the blame squarely on the Trump administration.

The Human Cost of Political War

Crockett’s post is more than a political statement; it is a human document from the front lines of a deeply divided government.

Her emotional transparency is a departure from the typically sanitized language of politics, reflecting a boiling point of frustration for many on the left

Her message ends on a note of defiance and a call for unity.

“If we just pull together as a people & stop allowing them to divide us, WE THE PEOPLE CAN WIN!” she wrote. “Don’t give up, don’t give in! I’m with you!”
