The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige, is not playing games when it comes to her business.
When Mary J. Blige sang about having “No More Drama,” she wasn’t just talking about her personal life—she was laying down the law for her career, too.
The Grammy-winning Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is making headlines after revealing she fired a team member over a setlist leak for her upcoming For My Fans Tour.
Last week, a portion of the set list for the 36-show tour was shared online. The initial performance is set to take place in Greensboro, North Carolina, on January 30, featuring special guests Ne-Yo and Mario.
At the time of the leak, Mary J Blige posted in a since-deleted Instagram Story, “This kinda hurts, and it’s sad to see this leaked. I wanted to surprise my fans with something special, but this doesn’t even scratch the surface of what I have planned!”
In a recent interview with People released on Saturday, the soul singer discussed further the aftermath of the leak, confirming that a breach of trust led to the swift dismissal.
“Yeah, I was pissed, and I fired someone because of it,” Mary J Blige confirmed.
The “No More Drama” hitmaker revealed she has put in significant effort over the last few weeks finalizing the specifics for the staging and the overall production and views the setlist as the most crucial aspect, which is why she feels disappointed.
“We worked too hard, and the setlist is the most private thing,” she says. “It was unprofessional. Obviously, it was somebody within the camp, and they risked their whole life just to get a couple of likes.”
Fortunately, the leak was merely a partial one.
Despite the hiccup, Blige’s fans are excited about the tour, which promises to celebrate her unparalleled career and pay homage to her loyal supporters. With a discography packed with hits like “Be Without You,” “Family Affair,” and “Real Love,” the tour is expected to deliver unforgettable moments.
Grammy and Emmy award-winning and Oscar-nominated Mary J. Blige has revealed her 2025 “The For My Fans Tour,” featuring special guests NE-YO and Mario. This tour follows the release of her latest album, “Gratitude,” which came out on November 15.
Both the tour and the album honor the love and appreciation that Mary J Blige feels for her life, family, friends, and cherished fans.
