Halle Bailey’s new boo has reportedly been identified as a hip-hop producer who works with none other than rap superstar Kendrick Lamar after being spotted getting cozy with the actress while sailing around Italy.
While the Little Mermaid star is currently in Italy filming her next movie, her off-camera life has been making even bigger waves. Earlier this week, The Shade Room dropped a photo carousel that had the internet buzzing. In it, Halle is seen enjoying yacht life with a mystery man, but thanks to some online detective work, the mystery didn’t last long.
According to fans and sources, Halle’s new companion is Ruchaun Akers, professionally known as Scott Bridgeway, a hip-hop producer with credits that reportedly include Kendrick Lamar. Ruchaun was born in Roanoke and raised in North Carolina, and it’s clear that he has made his way to the top, as evidenced by his current collaboration with one of the greatest lyricists of our time. And apparently, he’s caught Halle’s eye too.
The photos show the pair completely at ease, swimming together, snapping pictures, sharing kisses, and lounging like a couple straight out of a music video. Halle, in a thong bikini, looked stunning and carefree, while Ruchaun looked on.
This soft-launch vacation moment comes amid an intense and very public custody battle between Halle and her ex-boyfriend, DDG. As fans know, things between the two have been anything but smooth since the birth of their son, Halo.
In May, Halle was granted a restraining order against DDG after accusing him of domestic violence, claiming he violently assaulted her while picking up their son, leaving her with bruises and a chipped tooth. She also accused him of unlawfully entering her home and harassing her months after their split.
Though DDG attempted to block Halle from taking their son out of the country for work, a judge granted her temporary sole custody, allowing her to travel to Europe for filming. The next custody hearing is still pending.
Meanwhile, DDG has continued stirring headlines of his own, recently suggesting on livestream that he’d prefer to go to a fertility clinic to have his next child, just to avoid the stress of co-parenting.
