Reality TV star Angela Simmons is reportedly facing a substantial bill after losing a legal dispute with her former landlord.
The 36-year-old is said to owe nearly $50,000 in unpaid rent payments.
According to reports, Angela Simmons was sued by her apartment landlord in Randolph, New Jersey, for breaching her rental contract. She had been renting a penthouse there since October 2019.
The landlord alleged that Simmons consistently made partial rent payments during her one-year tenancy, often paying late, resulting in substantial late fees and unpaid rent.
Simmons apparently did not respond to the legal case, leading to a default judgment by a court judge, ordering her to pay the landlord approximately $48,000, covering late fees, unpaid rent, repairs, and other housing costs.
As of now, there has been no public response or comment from Simmons or her representatives regarding the judgment. It’s worth noting that Simmons has seemingly increased her marketing efforts for her vegan pancake mix brand since the ruling, which might suggest a financial need.
Despite her legal challenges, Angela Simmons appears to be enjoying a happy personal life with her boyfriend, Yo Gotti. The couple publicly revealed their relationship earlier this year, sharing affectionate photos together.
Yo Gotti, whose real name is Mario Mims, had expressed his affection for Rev. Run’s daughter in his 2016 hit single “Down In the DM.”
The two are often seen on Simmons’ Instagram page, sharing loving moments. During her recent birthday trip to Turks & Caicos, Simmons captioned their images with, “My best gift is you.”
Simmons is the daughter of rap pioneer Rev. Run and her niece of Russell Simmons, is a hip-hop socialite, model and fashion designer of her own line, Foofi.
