Draya Michele and the Houston Rockets star Jalen Green were brimming with joy and anticipation at their splendid baby shower, eagerly counting down the days to the arrival of their little one.
On March 8, the Basketball Wives alum Draya Michele marked International Women’s Day with a powerful announcement celebrating her pregnancy and a carousel of maternity photos.
While many wished her well in the comments section, others criticized her relationship with 22-year-old NBA player Jalen Green.
In response to the backlash, Draya addressed critics on her Instagram story.
“Get comfortable being misunderstood. Only a fraction of people will be able to truly grasp your essence. You are not on anyone else’s timeline of comprehension,” she wrote.
“Also, it’s none of your business how others choose to perceive you,” Draya continued. “Most High sees you clearly – let that be enough.”
The video from the Baby shower is the first indisputable proof that the once-rumored couple is expecting a daughter. The event was beautiful, and so was the expecting mother. Dressed in coordinating outfits,” Draya and Jalen appeared at the private event.
Michele’s belly was visible as she wore a red two-piece outfit. The front of her cropped top had flower adornments that matched the flowers on her miniskirt, and it was tied at the neck. She wore an enormous collection of gold bangles on one arm and had her hair done in an updo.
At the same time, Jalen Green wore a silk set with matching red and white stripes. He wore white loafers with his pants and a short-sleeved shirt that revealed his bare chest.
The pair looked happy and radiant, but the same cannot be said about the comments section.
Many expressed displeasure with the age gap between the 39-year-old and the 22-year-old NBA player.
“Raw doggin’ a 🥷🏿 your son’s age, for a check! Is going out sad af mad embarrassing,” one person wrote.
Another added, “18 years, she got you for 18 years.”
“He’s going to be a father and a big brother all at once,” a fan wrote.
Draya is already a mother of two boys, a seven-year-old, and a college student. While rumors have been circulating that Jalen, 22, is expecting two more children, their little girl will be his first child.
