Kali Uchis wants nothing further to do with D4vd following distressing news about his connection with a missing-and-found dead teenager.
The Colombian-American singer announced that she is in the process of removing her collaboration with the 20-year-old R&B artist, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, after authorities confirmed that the body of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas was discovered in a Tesla registered in his name earlier this month. The two had worked together on the song “Crashing” earlier this year for his debut album, “Withered”, but that collaboration has now sparked significant controversy.
Fans observed Kali’s response to comments on Instagram that criticized her association with D4vd. “Not my friend,” she responded, clarifying, “I did a song with him which is currently in the process of being taken down, given today’s disturbing news.”

Kali didn’t stop there. When another commenter accused her of trying to shift blame, she sharply retorted, “Women like her are the reason women always take the blame for the transgressions of men lol, the internalized misogyny of this world, I guess.”
Reactions came in quickly. Some fans praised her for severing ties immediately, while others questioned why Kali had collaborated with him in the first place. The criticism intensified as more details regarding the case emerged online.
Police revealed that the disturbing discovery occurred earlier this month when a Hollywood towing company reported a foul smell coming from a car they had impounded. Investigators found Rivas’s remains in the trunk of the Tesla. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later confirmed that the body belonged to the missing 15-year-old, who had last been seen in Riverside County back in April.
The connection between D4vd and Rivas runs deeper than just the vehicle. TMZ reported that they both had identical tattoos of the word “Shhh…” on their right index fingers. Adding to the eerie situation, fans uncovered a leaked track from December 2023, reportedly titled “Celeste_Demo unfin”, in which he repeatedly mentioned the name “Celeste.” Her mother has confirmed that her daughter had a romantic connection to someone named “David” before her disappearance.
The fallout from this situation has come swiftly. In addition to Kali Uchis distancing herself, prominent artists like Tyler, the Creator, and Daniel Caesar have unfollowed D4vd across social media platforms. The music video for “Crashing,” which had amassed over four million views since its release in February, is now under intense scrutiny.
