Nicki Minaj revealed that she has received Trump’s 1 million “Gold Card,” a high-dollar residency document tied to President Donald Trump’s latest government-backed investment initiative. The moment landed with a quiet caption and a loud reaction.

“Welp,” Nicki Minaj wrote on X, sharing a photo of the gold card emblazoned with Trump’s face. It didn’t take long for the post to ignite conversation across the internet.

In a follow-up message, Nicki Minaj leaned fully into the moment. “Finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President,” she added, claiming the card was provided “free of charge.”

The Gold Card, according to public details, typically requires a $1 million contribution to the U.S. Treasury, a $15,000 non-refundable processing fee, and offers residency with a path to citizenship.

The reveal came just hours after Nicki Minaj appeared at a Washington, D.C. summit promoting “Trump Accounts,” a program designed to provide tax-advantaged investment accounts for U.S. citizens under 18. Standing beside Trump, Nicki Minaj described herself as “probably the president’s No. 1 fan,” brushing off criticism and saying the backlash only fuels her support.

For many fans, the moment felt jarring. Nicki Minaj has lived in the United States since childhood after moving from Trinidad and Tobago, and has long been a legal permanent resident. In 2024, she publicly stated she was not yet a U.S. citizen despite paying millions in taxes. That history made the Gold Card announcement feel both symbolic and provocative, especially given her massive influence within Black American culture.

Trump, for his part, suggested Nicki Minaj was investing heavily in the Trump Accounts initiative, praising her involvement and signaling a broader push to align celebrity power with his political messaging. Shortly after the event, the White House shared a photo of the two together.

Online, reactions split fast and fiercely. Supporters applauded Nicki Minaj for speaking her mind and standing firm in her choices. Critics accused her of glamorizing wealth-based access to citizenship and aligning herself with policies that many believe harm marginalized communities.

Nicki Minaj, however, appears unmoved.
