‘There’s No Competition in Poly’: Creator Che Says Polygamy Requires ‘Teamwork’ and ‘Unity’

by Gee NY

Social media creator Che has shared a passionate defense of polygamous relationships, arguing that competition and jealousy undermine the foundation of successful poly dynamics.

In a viral Instagram video, Che insisted that women involved in polygamous or poly relationships should focus less on competing for attention and more on personal growth, cooperation, and emotional balance.

“There’s no competition in poly,” Che said in the clip. “You cannot compete in polygamy. You cannot have a competitive spirit in polygamy.”

The creator framed poly relationships as environments built on teamwork and mutual understanding rather than rivalry between partners.

“You’re going to find yourself missing out on a great, amazing, beautiful experience, a friend, a relationship, or just peace and happiness overall, because of your competitive spirit,” Che continued.

The video, posted with the caption “There’s no competition — it’s teamwork, unity,” quickly sparked conversation across social media platforms where debates surrounding polyamory, polygamy, and nontraditional relationship structures continue to gain visibility.

Che also argued that men are capable of emotionally connecting with multiple women simultaneously, a point often central to discussions around consensual non-monogamy.

“What women need to understand is that men are capable of loving more than one woman at one time,” Che said. “Men are capable of taking care of more than one woman at one time.”

The creator encouraged viewers to redirect energy typically spent on comparison or insecurity toward self-improvement and emotional development.

“Compete with yourself,” Che advised. “How can I be better today? In what ways can I grow?”

The comments reflect a broader cultural conversation about alternative relationship models, emotional fulfillment, and evolving ideas around monogamy and partnership. While supporters of poly lifestyles often emphasize communication, honesty, and community, critics continue to question whether unequal emotional dynamics or power imbalances can realistically be avoided.

Online reactions to the video were mixed. Some viewers agreed with Che’s emphasis on emotional maturity and cooperation, while others argued that jealousy and competition are natural human emotions that cannot simply be dismissed in romantic relationships.

“Same with WOMEN. We can and do love more than 1 MAN at once. I wrote about it in my book “All 3 In Me” when I have 3 boyfriends at once. Yes, they all knew. Cool message, but apply it to women too, not just men,” one commenter pointed out.

Still, the clip resonated with audiences interested in conversations about modern dating, relationship expectations, and nontraditional approaches to love and commitment.
