Rapper GloRilla was taken into custody this week on felony drug charges after police discovered “a considerable quantity of marijuana” while looking into a burglary at her residence in Atlanta.
The drama started when a burglary was reported at GloRilla’s Atlanta home early Saturday morning, July 19, while the rapper was away performing at the WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis. According to her legal team, her family was home at the time when three intruders allegedly broke in and stole jewelry. Things took a dangerous turn when one of her relatives opened fire, scaring the suspects off. The burglars haven’t been caught yet.
But that’s not even the part that landed GloRilla in handcuffs.
While investigating the break-in, police officers claimed they smelled marijuana. That led to a search warrant and a complete sweep of the house, where they found a “significant amount” of marijuana stashed in a closet, according to their report.
GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Woods, turned herself in on Tuesday and was booked at the Forsyth County Jail on felony marijuana possession and controlled substance charges. She was later released on a $22,260 bond.
This marks her second arrest in just over a year. Back in April 2024, she was arrested in Suwanee, Georgia, for DUI and several traffic-related charges. That incident also involved police sniffing out marijuana during a traffic stop.
But here’s the twist: despite all of this, GloRilla is still heading home to Memphis this weekend to headline her sold-out Glo Bash concert. Fans were holding their breath, wondering if her arrest would shut the whole thing down, but it looks like the show will go on.

Sheriff Ron Freeman, who’s handling the current case, said in a statement, “The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice. At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.”
The sheriff’s office also stated in a message to The Associated Press that the suspects were not found, “despite a thorough search.” The investigation into the burglary continues, and detectives have collected physical and forensic evidence, including traces, believed to be associated with the suspects, according to the office.
GloRilla’s lawyers, Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg, stated that the culprits fled with “valuable jewelry” after discovering that the house was occupied. The rapper’s family members, who were at her residence, were left “traumatized” by what happened, according to her legal representatives.
