Vice President Kamala Harris has issued a sharp rebuke of former President Donald Trump’s administration following the massive “Hands Off!” protests held across the country on Saturday, accusing Trump of implementing the controversial Project 2025 “at full speed.”

The protests, which organizers say drew millions of participants, were held in all 50 states and marked the largest wave of demonstrations since Trump returned to office. Protesters carried signs condemning key aspects of the administration’s agenda, including sweeping federal layoffs, crackdowns on immigration, U.S. involvement in the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, and the growing influence of tech billionaire Elon Musk, a top Trump adviser.

“Americans are standing up to the administration as they implement Project 2025 at full speed,” Harris wrote on social media, aligning herself with the demonstrators’ concerns.

“Thank you for using your voices and the power of protest to stand for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid; for the Department of Education and programs like Head Start; for clean air and water; for the right to make decisions about your own body without government interference,” she added. “The voices of working people will always be louder than the unelected billionaires.”

Saturday’s demonstrations were the latest in a series of protests targeting the administration’s policies, though this event appeared to be the most widespread and coordinated to date. Activist groups said their message was clear: reject the hardline vision of government laid out in Project 2025, a 900-page blueprint from the conservative Heritage Foundation that calls for shrinking the federal workforce and dismantling numerous agencies.

Despite mounting criticism, Trump has publicly distanced himself from the policy roadmap, which gained attention during the 2024 campaign. Critics, however, say the administration’s recent actions reflect a clear alignment with the document’s goals.

The scale of the protests and Harris’s vocal support suggest a deepening divide over the future direction of federal governance—and a growing resistance to what opponents view as an authoritarian turn under Trump’s renewed leadership.
