R&B singer Kehlani has taken a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend Javaughn Young-White amidst their contentious child custody dispute over their 5-year-old daughter.

A week after, Kehlani and Javaughn Young-White both took to social media to state that they would keep details and updates about their “legal, private, familial matters” away from the court of public opinion, a new update is playing out on social media again

In the court documents filed in Los Angeles on July 24, Young-White requested both legal and physical custody of their five-year-old daughter, Adeya, including child support.

He claimed that Kehlani, whose full name is Kehlani Parrish, is involved in a cult that he believes controls her actions, including how she raises their daughter.

Young-White’s complaint alleges that he was “physically restrained and threatened” by cult members while attempting to retrieve Adeya. He also claims that while Kehlani is on tour, Adeya is cared for by cult members, who sleep and bathe with them.

However, new court documents have surfaced, along with alleged evidence that both parties have accused each other of abuse and other offenses.

According to TMZ, Kehlani filed a restraining order against Young-White on Tuesday (August 13), alleging that he called her a “b**ch” and a “liar” and that they had trapped him by having their baby.

The complaint describes a pattern of alleged abuse, including an incident in mid-June in which Young-White allegedly became enraged and forced his way into Kehlani’s locked bedroom.

In court documents, Kehlani claimed that Young-White had been abusive for years, including during her pregnancy. The singer alleged that he had frequent outbursts and was negligent. Kehlani revealed that Young-White had been living on her property, where he spent his time “smoking marijuana every day and all day” and taking psychedelics.

In an attached court order, commissioner Jeffrey W. Korn determined that there was a risk of child abduction in the case, citing Young-White’s history of abuse against Kehlani and lack of cooperation in co-parenting.

Young-White is prohibited from contacting Kehlani and Adeya for the duration of the court order, including phone calls and emails. The 27-year-old has also been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the mother and daughter, Kehlani’s home, and Adeya’s school or childcare facility.
