Keyshia Ka’oir, wife of rapper Gucci Mane, is receiving backlash after she promoted her new $525 “mental health coaching” sessions, which came shortly after Gucci revealed his struggles with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

The controversy erupted almost instantly when Keyshia shared the announcement on her platform. According to her website, KaOir.com, these one-hour consultations aim to assist clients with “mental health, relationships, mindset, body goals, and confidence.” However, a notable concern is that Keyshia is not a licensed therapist or mental health professional.

This revelation did not sit well with many fans, who accused her of profiting from her husband’s openness about his mental health. One commenter stated, “We love Keyshia, but $525 for mental health advice from someone with no credentials? Be for real.” Another added, “She was just talking about deleting Gucci’s Instagram; now she’s charging for therapy?”

This uproar follows the couple’s heartfelt joint interview on The Breakfast Club, where Gucci Mane candidly shared his mental health diagnoses. The 45-year-old rapper disclosed that he was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder during the pandemic and has been working alongside professionals to manage his condition.

Keyshia expressed her admiration for Gucci’s progress, explaining the lengths she goes to during tough times to protect him. “I have a system,” she explained to the hosts. “I take his apps off his phone. First thing I do, I delete Instagram. I delete everything. Even if I gotta change his password, I’m changing it because I don’t need the public to know he’s having an episode.”

Initially, fans cheered her dedication and loyalty, calling her a “ride-or-die wife who really understands mental health support.” However, the sentiment shifted dramatically when her coaching program was announced.

Many felt that launching a $525 “mental health” service right after such an open discussion about mental health seemed opportunistic.

At this time, Keyshia has not publicly responded to the backlash, but her website still features the $525 sessions for booking.
