Megan Thee Stallion just dropped her new single “Lover Girl,” and the song is a full-blown dedication to her NBA boyfriend Klay Thompson, whom she’s been dating publicly since July 2025.
The Houston rapper has entered her Lover Era, and she’s not hiding it. The track is soft, sensual, and soaked in 90s nostalgia thanks to its sample of Total’s 1996 classic “Kissin’ You.”
And Megan made it very clear that Klay is the first man EVER to inspire her to make a song about him.
From the opening bars, Megan wastes no time letting listeners know exactly who this track is about. She raps openly, confidently, and lovingly about her relationship with the Golden State Warriors star.
She reminisces on when she knew it was getting serious, “I had to lock in when I found out he could handle me… This shit be easy when you find somebody on your level.”
She also praises how he treats her, “My n—a say ‘My lady,’ he never say ‘My b-tch.'”
Halfway in, Megan leans into her signature confidence, blending romance, intimacy, and that unmistakable Stallion swagger.
“My man, my man, my man, my baby, my baby
D-ckin’ me down, spoilin’ me, drivin’ me crazy.”
It’s explicit. It’s bold.
Later she raps, “He get so deep in that p—y, it’s like he lookin for somethin… I turned his house into a home, I’m one hell of a woman.”
It’s a grown-woman verse. Honest. Raw. Vulnerable without losing the heat.
“Lover Girl” channels the golden era of R&B with the Total sample, blending slow-groove soul with Megan’s polished rap delivery. It’s giving romance, nostalgia, and a soundtrack for late-night drives.
Fans immediately praised the artistic direction, calling it a “perfect balance” of soft-girl energy and Stallion confidence. Many also pointed out how refreshing it is to see Megan in love after a long stretch of public challenges and heartbreak.
