A new rivalry between rap queen Nicki Minaj and rising star Ice Spice has ignited. The flashpoint? Ice Spice’s latest track, ‘Phat Butt,’ seems to be a blatant rip-off of Nicki Minaj’s animated signature flow and style.

Ice Spice has received comparisons to Nicki Minaj following the release of her latest single, “Phat Butt.”

Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice seemed to enjoy a very cordial relationship until Ice Spice’s former friend leaked chats of Ice Spic calling Nicki Minaj names after the “Munch” rapper previously sang the head Barb’s praises.

In July 2023, Ice Spice opened up about her relationship with Nicki Minaj in an interview with The Guardian. She claimed that Nicki has provided her with valuable advice and served as a mentor to the 23-year-old. In another interview with Capital XTRA, she called Nicki the “queen,” praising her work ethic.

Nicki Minaj also endorsed Ice Spice when she shared a “Munch (Feelin’ U)” star gracing the cover of Dazed magazine on X and her Instagram story, captioning, “Gag. The People’s PRINCESS 👑. Catch it!!!” she wrote.

All seemed to be going well in the Pin World until a woman that Baby Storme leaked chats where Ice Spice said that Minaj is “like her mom, ungrateful and delusional.”

And now, the Bronx rapper seems to be angling for her former mentor’s style and fame.

Fans immediately remarked on how similar the Bronx native sounded to Nicki, with several noting that her flow was very similar to her Pinkprint song, “Shanghai.”

However, a new snippet tease also featured her brand-new bob cut, with fans believing she is overly emulating her close collaborator, Nicki Minaj.

Some people say it as a compliment, while others think otherwise.

But what does Nicki Minaj say? The OG rap queen dropped a coded message to show she sees and hears it all.

Nicki responded after Foxy Brown noted the similarity with a note on her IG Story, “Tanya Whole Flow.”

To which Nicki Minaj quickly responded, “Been said that,” complete with laughing hard until a cry emojis.

As of now, Ice Spice has yet to directly address Minaj’s accusations. It is unclear whether this will escalate into a full-fledged feud or quietly disappear.

For the time being, we’re paying close attention to both artists.
