Drea Kelly, the ex-wife of R. Kelly, is set to reveal her truth in a new tell-all book, aiming to disrupt the misconceptions surrounding her life and experiences.
In an empowering Instagram post, Drea declared:
“I am a BEAST and a BUTTERFLY. God said it is so. The time has come to disrupt the deception.”
She expressed her frustration at people speaking on her life without truly knowing her, stating:
“How crazy is it to speak on someone you NEVER MET or had a conversation with as FACT. Well, the time has come to speak without fear!”
The upcoming book, titled “Under The Red Carpet“, is anticipated to shed light on Drea’s journey, detailing her struggles and resilience in the face of public scrutiny.
“No more forcing a smile to get thru the pain of being me. No more ‘be nice’ to please an unpleasant world,” she continued, indicating that her narrative will be unfiltered and genuine.
Drea promised the upcoming book and her story will be transformative, asserting:
“My book is going to set so many free,” and she encouraged readers to confront their issues rather than projecting them onto her.
This announcement comes in the wake of the ongoing fallouts from the Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and R. Kelly scandals, both rocking the music industry and sparking conversations about abuse and exploitation.
R. Kelly, a once-celebrated R&B artist, has faced numerous allegations of sexual abuse and misconduct, leading to his conviction on federal charges in September 2021.
His tumultuous relationship with Drea, who was married to him for over a decade, has often been highlighted as part of the larger narrative surrounding his controversial legacy.
Diddy was also arrested recently (September) and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution, nearly a year after his ex-girlfriend and R&B singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura filed a bombshell sexual abuse lawsuit against the mogul.
Diddy faced serious allegations from Cassie who filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual abuse, human trafficking, and physical violence throughout their relationship, which lasted from 2007 to 2018. In the lawsuit, Cassie claims that Diddy controlled her life, manipulated her career, and subjected her to physical assaults, including a disturbing incident where he allegedly raped her at gunpoint.
Following the filing of the lawsuit, Diddy has denied the accusations, characterizing them as baseless and claiming that they were made for financial gain.
Drea has been an outspoken advocate for survivors of domestic violence and abuse, using her platform to raise awareness about the impact of toxic relationships. Through her tell-all book, she aims to reclaim her narrative and inspire others to find their voice.
There is no known release date for Drea’s book but fans and followers are eagerly awaiting her revelations amid the Diddy scandal.
