Sad! Woman Fatally Shot In Broad Daylight By Husband After Reported Years of Domestic Abuse

by Gee NY

A 45-year-old New York woman was allegedly gunned down in broad daylight by her husband after what authorities say were years of documented domestic violence, according to multiple reports.

Chaneil Ramsay, a nurse and mother, was found mortally wounded on a residential street in South Jamaica, Queens, on Tuesday after police responded to a 911 call about multiple gunshots.

Witnesses described a horrifying scene, with some reporting that Ramsay had been in a heated argument with her husband shortly before the fatal shooting.

“He chased her shooting,” one witness told the New York Daily News. “There were like eight or nine shots. He hit her in the head — that’s her wig over there.”

Ramsay reportedly suffered gunshot wounds to her head, stomach, and arm. Despite the urgent response from emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Years of Reported Domestic Incidents

Authorities say this tragic killing did not come without warning signs. NYPD confirmed that officers had responded to multiple domestic violence complaints at the couple’s residence in the past.

Ramsay’s husband is currently wanted in connection with her murder, but as of Thursday, police have not made an arrest or publicly released his name.

Community Mourning a Life Cut Short

Ramsay lived with her mother and son, both of whom are now mourning her loss. The community is reeling from the tragedy, with many expressing anger over what they describe as a preventable loss of life.

“She was a kind woman who worked hard as a nurse. She didn’t deserve this,” one neighbor said. “We heard arguments before, but no one expected it to come to this.”

Domestic Violence Resources Under Scrutiny

This devastating case adds to growing concerns about the effectiveness of domestic violence intervention services and the need for better protection mechanisms for victims. Advocates stress that early and consistent responses to abuse reports can save lives.
