The legal drama between Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert is far from over, even after their high-profile divorce was finalized in July 2024.

The former couple is now locked in a tense post-divorce courtroom clash, each accusing the other of violating their agreement—and both requesting jail time.

Earlier this week, former NBA player Iman Shumpert filed a motion for contempt in Georgia court, asking that his ex-wife be jailed for 20 days for allegedly breaching the terms of their divorce settlement.

According to the motion obtained by In Touch, Shumpert claims Taylor “willfully and contemptuously exposed and broadcast” confidential details from their final divorce decree, which he alleges led to loss of income and reputational harm.

Shumpert also accused the singer and actress of interfering with his parenting rights, including an alleged incident on April 17, where he claims Taylor blocked him from picking up their two daughters, Iman “Junie” Tayla Jr. and Rue Rose.

Additionally, he accused Taylor of speaking ill of him in front of their children, alleging she used “crude and inflammatory racial insults” in their presence.

But Taylor isn’t staying silent.

In a measured but firm response, the 34-year-old singer refuted the idea that she ever sought to have Shumpert jailed.

Instead, she explained that her own motion—filed just weeks ago—was a legal effort to protect her privacy and professional reputation after she says Shumpert leaked court-sealed information to the press for personal and promotional gain.

“I don’t want no parts of this,” Taylor has said publicly. “Iman is my family. He is the father of my children, and that’s never going to change. I just want to move on with my life in peace.”

Taylor also shut down online speculation labeling her a “gold digger,” explaining that her focus remains on healing and co-parenting.

Her legal team’s earlier filing likewise requested that Shumpert be held in contempt and jailed for 20 days, alleging he violated the same confidentiality agreement.

This latest public fallout follows a turbulent timeline: The pair were married in 2016 and finalized their divorce in July 2024.

At one point, Taylor’s legal filings alleged that Shumpert deliberately leaked confidential court materials to promote his music, worsening tensions in what was already a deeply personal and public split.

With both sides now accusing each other of contempt, the post-divorce battle has escalated beyond custody and finances to questions of trust, privacy, and damage control.

As Taylor put it succinctly: “Nobody wins when the family feud.”
