Allen, the CEO and Founder of K. Allen Consulting, curated a deeply intentional experience, not only marking a milestone in her life but also honoring her roots and the legacy of African history.

The breathtaking moments were captured by professional photographer Michael Carson, whom Allen flew in to document the group’s journey against the backdrop of the Great Pyramids and the golden desert sands.

To show appreciation for the unwavering support of her friends, Allen covered the costs of all their curated experiences, including camelback riding, private tours of the pyramids, an exclusive Nile River cruise, and massages at the opulent Four Seasons Cairo, where they stayed throughout the trip.

The women also enjoyed ATV rides through the desert and had personal Four Seasons drivers escorting them to and from the airport.

Allen described the trip as a “love letter to Black women entering their 40s,” sharing in an Instagram post:

“As a little girl, I learned about the 7 wonders of the world. As an adult, I dreamed of what it would be like to visit and touch the Great Pyramids, to sail on the Nile River, and to see what our ancestors created and left as a visual and symbolic legacy. When I began to pray and contemplate how I wanted to enter 40, Africa fell on my heart, and so did centering my Black womanhood.”

Travel as a Form of Self-Care

Allen’s trip reflects a growing movement among Black women prioritizing self-care through travel, especially in the wake of the 2024 presidential election between Vice President Kamala Harris and President Donald Trump.

In a Facebook post, she acknowledged the political weight of the times, writing:

“As a Black woman – given the presidential election and overall political weight and realities of the world, God knew exactly where I needed to be and with whom to enter 2025 recharged, refreshed, and renewed to fulfill the next chapter of my life.”

A Legacy of Giving Back

This isn’t the first time Allen has made headlines for her generosity. In 2023, she surprised her entire staff with tickets to Beyoncé’s Renaissance concert in New Orleans, a moment that went viral.

That same year, she gifted her parents a historic home in her hometown of Selma, Alabama, making them first-time homeowners.

From entrepreneurship to philanthropy and now travel, Allen continues to redefine what success and fulfillment look like for Black women, carving a path for others to embrace joy, rest, and legacy.

Her Egyptian getaway reminds us that Black women deserve to celebrate themselves—lavishly and unapologetically!
