The BET Hip Hop Awards delivered a memorable moment as Trina and Yung Miami, two of the most influential female rappers in hip-hop history, joined forces on stage.
Yung Miami also took the opportunity to pay begone-half her musical idol, Trina, with a modern interpretation of an iconic outfit Trina wore back in 2001.
It was a night to remember when the ever-fierce Yung Miami joined forces with the one and only Trina at the BET Hip Hop Awards. On October 15, the duo delivered a standout performance at Drai’s Nightclub in Las Vegas that took fans on a nostalgic ride down memory lane.
Trina opened her set with her hit single “Da Baddest Bh” before moving on to a medley of other fan favorites, including “B R Right,” “Look Back At It,” “Pull Over,” and her verse on Latto’s remix of “Bh From Da Souf.”
The night also included performances by Juicy J, 2 Chainz, Big Boogie, and GloRilla, making it an unforgettable event for hip-hop fans.
The fashion tribute was even more meaningful, considering Yung Miami and Trina shared the stage for a powerful performance of Trina’s classic hit.
For the finale, Trina performed her classic song “Nann” and invited Yung Miami to deliver her iconic verse, bringing Miami energy to the Vegas stage.
Trina’s performance at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards came just a week after she released her new memoir Da Baddest. The veteran rapper collaborated with author Sesali Bowen to share her coming-of-age story about growing up in Miami’s Liberty City neighborhood with her mother and stepfather.
Trina’s memoir, which includes an introduction by Missy Elliott, details Trina’s upbringing in Miami’s Liberty City and her rise to rap stardom. According to Simon & Schuster, the book gives readers an “evocative look into Trina’s upbringing and life as a rap icon,” demonstrating how she became a trailblazer for female rappers, demonstrating why she is the blueprint, and why no one but her can hold the title of “The Baddest B***h.”
Trina’s performance, particularly with Yung Miami, was a standout of the night, celebrating her long-lasting influence in the industry.
