Wendy Williams has reunited with her family for a milestone moment, celebrating her father’s 94th birthday in Miami while mending fences with her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., after a tumultuous period marked by financial disputes.

The former talk show host, 59, was photographed beaming alongside her father, Thomas Williams Sr., and her 24-year-old son during a family dinner Saturday night. The gathering marked a rare public appearance for Williams, who has recently faced significant personal and health challenges, including her highly publicized court-appointed guardianship. Earlier this year, Williams expressed uncertainty about whether she’d be permitted to visit her father for his birthday due to legal restrictions tied to her guardianship. However, the star defied the odds, jetting to Miami to honor her dad in a deeply personal reunion.

The celebration took an emotional turn as Kevin Hunter Jr. shared a touching photo of himself flanked by his mother and grandfather on Instagram. Captioning the image, he wrote, “Happy I could make this happen for you, Papa… I said by any means, and I kept my word.” The post hinted at his role in facilitating the family gathering, which comes weeks after Wendy publicly accused him of mishandling her finances during her health struggles.

Sources close to the family suggest the reunion signals a tentative truce between mother and son. Earlier this month, Wendy alleged during her podcast that Kevin Jr. had “cleaned [her] out” financially, claims he has repeatedly denied.

Wendy Williams, who has recently refuted claims of cognitive impairment despite earlier reports, discussed her relationship with Kevin Jr. during the Tubi special Saving Wendy premiere. She stated that she was placed under guardianship after several significant unauthorized withdrawals from her bank account.

“My son is a good person, but at this point, he is a horrible person to me,” Williams said while seen in her assisted living facility. “It’s the way he moves with other people … and ‘What is going on with these other people at my apartment in Miami? What are you doing? You spent on what? And what is going on at Wells Fargo?'”

Despite the rift, the pair appeared relaxed and affectionate during their Miami outing, sparking hope among fans that their bond is on the mend.

While Williams’ representatives have not commented on the status of her guardianship, her Miami visit, approved by the court, offered a glimpse of the TV icon reclaiming moments of joy. Followers flooded social media with support, praising the family’s resilience. “Family over everything. So happy to see Wendy smiling again,” one fan tweeted.

Could this mark the beginning of a fresh start for Wendy Williams and her family?
