Social media influencer Carolina Reyes, known to fans as “Carol the Warrior,” has died at the age of 23 after months of documenting her health struggles and cancer treatment online.
Her family announced the news on Instagram on March 12, one day after her death.
“With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our warrior, Carol the Warrior,” the family wrote in a statement. “She was a warrior, a brilliant person, and a human being who never gave up in the face of any difficulty.”
Reyes had built a large online following of more than 200,000 followers, many of whom closely followed her journey through illness, offering support as she openly shared the highs and lows of her treatment.

A Life Shared With Her Followers
The young entrepreneur from Cali was known online not only for her inspirational posts but also for promoting her clothing boutique and sharing moments from her daily life.
Her followers watched as her life took a sudden turn in late 2025.
In October of that year, Reyes told fans she had begun experiencing severe body pain that she initially believed was related to weightlifting workouts she frequently shared on social media.
However, the pain worsened, prompting her to seek medical care. Tests later revealed fluid buildup in her lungs, which doctors drained. By November, she publicly revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer.
Despite the devastating diagnosis, Reyes continued to update supporters throughout her treatment, including her chemotherapy sessions, while maintaining a tone of determination that earned her the nickname “Carol the Warrior.”
Finding Strength Through Pain
In a reflective Instagram post in December 2025, Reyes described the year as the “most difficult chapter” of her life.
“The year in which I cried the most, suffered the most, but also the year in which I learned the most has ended,” she wrote.
“A year that broke me into pieces, but it also taught me to build myself from scratch.”
Her words resonated deeply with followers who had watched her confront illness while encouraging others to find strength even in painful moments.
Final Posts and Lasting Impact
Reyes’ final posts online showed her traveling to Rio de Janeiro, where she shared photos of herself wearing a Brazil shirt and smiling for the camera.
“Everything is fine,” she captioned the post.
Following the announcement of her death, thousands of fans filled the comments with tributes, remembering her resilience and the emotional connection she created by sharing her story so openly.
“There are people who never leave completely, because they live forever in what they left in us,” one follower wrote.
Remembering “The Warrior”
Reyes’ family described her as someone who faced every challenge with courage and determination, even in the final months of her life.
A wake honoring her life will be held in Cali, where friends, family and supporters are expected to gather to say their final goodbyes.
Although her life was short, many of her followers say Reyes left behind a powerful legacy — one built on honesty, perseverance and the reminder that strength can exist even in life’s darkest moments.
