Ayesha Curry has sparked yet another online debate, after saying she thought she would be famous than her husband, NBA superstar Steph Curry.

The conversation kicked off following her recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, where she shared her reflections on her early expectations regarding her life and marriage. During this candid moment that quickly gained traction on social media, Ayesha revealed that when she first encountered Steph, she envisioned him becoming a high school basketball coach while she pursued the limelight.

“I thought I was gonna be a career girl and that’s it,” Ayesha shared. “I had my eyes set on my goals. I was never the little girl who dreamt about the wedding dress and all of that. And then it happened so early in my life.”

To many, this was simply Ayesha being open about her personal journey, dreaming big, adapting to motherhood, and still striving to advance her career. However, others felt that her words seemed to undermine her husband’s achievements.

Rapper Bookie Woodz added his two cents to the mix, criticizing Ayesha for what he perceived as “embarrassing” Steph by expressing her insecurities about not receiving the same level of attention from men as Steph does from women. He even went so far as to liken her to GloRilla, suggesting she should “drop an album” instead of questioning her husband’s legacy.

Unsurprisingly, the internet had a lot to say about the matter. Some applauded Ayesha for her honesty regarding the difficulty of balancing family life with personal aspirations, particularly as someone who married at a young age. Conversely, others criticized her comments, feeling they diminished Steph’s success and painted him as merely a secondary option to her career ambitions.

However, it’s crucial to consider the context. Ayesha and Steph’s relationship has deep roots. They met as teenagers, got married in 2011, and built both a family and a business empire together. While Steph has excelled on the basketball court, Ayesha has successfully established her own path through cookbooks, restaurants, and various business initiatives. She has made it clear that she treasures her roles as a mother and a wife, but she also feels the need to reclaim her own identity and ambitions beyond her husband’s spotlight.

So, what’s your take? Was Ayesha being genuine, or did she inadvertently disrespect Steph?
