Kim Kardashian’s and Kanye West’s daughter, North West, recently made her stage debut in a local production of “The Lion King.” However, her performance has sparked a wide range of reactions from fans

North West performs I Just Can’t Wait to Be King at the Lion King: 30th Anniversary Concert at The Hollywood Bowl using a much more relaxed take on the typical Broadway costumes.

Earlier this month, the ‘Elementary School Dropout’ artist was announced as the latest addition to the star-studded line-up of the live concert special, which will be filmed over two performances at the iconic Hollywood venue on May 24 and 25.

North West made her Bowl debut alongside the other two additions, Tony- and Grammy Award-winning Broadway star Heather Headley and Grammy-winning Lebo M. ( as The Lion King).

The 10-year-old eldest child of Ye and Kim Kardashian earned a standing ovation as she took the stage to perform ‘I Just Can’t Wait to Be King’ from the 1994 Walt Disney animated movie.

The young artist’s costume included slippers, a yellow hoodie, matching shorts, and a fuzzy hood.

However, her recent performance in “The Lion King” has drawn mixed reviews

Some were not overly impressed, while others found her portrayal intriguing. This diversity of opinions has led to a spirited discussion among fans and theatre enthusiasts about the young star’s role in the well-liked musical.

Several admirers expressed dissatisfaction on social media, claiming that the young performer was unprepared for such a significant role.

“You all were talking bad about Blue when she actually put in work and rehearsed. North looks like she just walked on stage; her vocals are bad, and people praising her. I wonder why,” someone blurted.

Another added, “She is not even ready; you can tell she didn’t work for the role it was just given.”

Adding fuel to the fire, some critics argue that North’s casting may have deprived a more talented young actress of a well-deserved opportunity. This sentiment was echoed by numerous comments on social media, with some fans suggesting that North’s celebrity status played a bigger role in her casting than her actual talent.

“There’s a kid out there who lives and breathes theatre that didn’t get this opportunity,” a fan added.

Another added, “So basically, a talented kid was robbed of their moment so she could perform 😏.”

Despite the conflicting reviews, North West’s venture into the musical theatre industry represents an intriguing development in her early life

North’s acting debut came after she announced her first album, Elementary School Dropout, in March. The album is a nod to her dad’s 2004 debutThe College Dropout.
