Taraji P. Henson delivered a compelling message centered on fostering unity among women in the entertainment industry at the ELLE Women in Hollywood event on Dec. 5.
The award-winning actress emphasized the strength derived from togetherness and passionately encouraged support and camaraderie, specifically focusing on expressing her deep admiration for Black women.
In a heartfelt commitment, she reiterated her dedication to being a sister’s keeper, inviting the star-studded audience at the glamourous event to make mutual support and solidarity among women striving for success in the industry their paramount goal.
“Women—Black women—we have to stick together, y’all. Women in general, we just can’t—we are so powerful. There is so much power in this room…And it’s unfortunate that society pits us against each other. The power lies in our togetherness.,” said Henson.

Henson spoke against cancel culture, stressing the need for compassion and understanding in acknowledging human flaws. She shared her personal initiative, the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation, dedicated to eradicating the stigma surrounding mental health in the Black and brown community.
