Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion reunited onstage in Houston for a surprise performance of their chart-topping hit “WAP,” delivering one of the most talked-about moments from the Little Miss Drama tour stop at the Toyota Center on Wednesday night, March 4.
The crowd erupted when Cardi B brought out Houston’s own Megan Thee Stallion midway through the show, turning the concert into a high-energy celebration of one of the most successful collaborations in modern hip-hop. The performance quickly became a highlight of the night as fans watched the two rap stars reconnect onstage for their 2020 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single.
Cardi began the performance seated on the stage in a sparkly red outfit while rapping the opening verse of the song. As the beat continued, she stood up and paused to introduce her collaborator to the roaring crowd. “Ladies and gentlemen, your very own, Houston’s finest, Megan Thee Stallion,” Cardi announced, sending the audience into a frenzy.
Moments later, Megan appeared dramatically through a trap door in the stage floor. Dressed in a sparkly tartan mini skirt and a matching long-sleeve bikini top, the Houston rapper jumped right into her verse as the crowd shouted along to the lyrics. The surprise entrance intensified the excitement inside the arena, with fans cheering loudly as the two artists performed together.
The performance continued with both rappers moving across the stage as shirtless male dancers surrounded them. Megan danced and twerked while Cardi rejoined on the mic, at one point playfully slapping Megan as they performed together. Dancers tossed stacks of cash around the stage, adding to the spectacle while the audience rapped every word along with them.
Videos from the concert captured the energy inside the Toyota Center, with fans shouting encouragement and celebrating the moment as the duo delivered an encore of the hit song. When “WAP” debuted in 2020, it became the first female rap collaboration to enter the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 1. The track also set a record at the time for the largest opening streaming week for a song in U.S. history.
After the show, Megan shared a photo backstage with Cardi. The image showed the two artists cheek-to-cheek, smiling for the camera. Cardi later reposted the picture and expressed appreciation for her longtime collaborator, thanking Megan for joining her onstage in Houston.
Megan Thee Stallion is the latest artist to make a surprise appearance during Cardi B’s Little Miss Drama tour. Earlier tour stops have featured other guest performances, including GloRilla during the Inglewood, California show on Feb. 15. The following night also included appearances from Kehlani, Tyla and Blueface.
The Houston performance marked another reunion for Cardi and Megan, who have shared the stage multiple times since the release of “WAP.” In May 2024, Cardi joined Megan during her Hot Girl Summer tour stop at Madison Square Garden, where the two performed both “WAP” and their later collaboration “Bongos.”
For fans in Houston, Wednesday night’s show offered a memorable moment as two of hip-hop’s biggest stars came together once again to perform one of the genre’s most recognizable hits.
