A 36-year-old mother has been arrested in West Nashville after allegedly shooting her 17-year-old daughter through a closed bedroom door during a heated altercation inside their apartment.
According to police, Ulondria Bond admitted to firing the shot but claimed it was only meant to “scare” her daughter during a fight on Monday evening at the Richland Hills apartments on Maudina Avenue.
The bullet struck the teen in the thigh, and she was rushed to Vanderbilt Pediatric Hospital, where she is expected to recover.
Bond was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. She has prior convictions, including aggravated assault, theft, and driving under the influence (DUI), police records show.

She is currently being held on a $30,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 11.
The incident report indicates that Bond and her daughter had gotten into a physical fight, prompting the teen to retreat into her room.
Bond then allegedly fired a shot through the bedroom door, striking the girl. Authorities have not detailed what led up to the altercation, but say the teen is classified as a juvenile.
The investigation is ongoing.
