Serena Page, winner of Season 6 of “Love Island USA,” is poised to make her mark in the haircare industry with a new brand specifically designed for Black women.

Targeting college students, Page aims to create accessible and affordable products that cater to protective hairstyles, drawing from her own experiences as an entrepreneur.

While attending the University of Texas at San Antonio, Page successfully ran a braiding business for four years, providing her with firsthand insight into the unique challenges faced by young Black women in college.

“I want something very easy and accessible for Black women, especially young Black women in college,” she said during the Essence GU Disruptor Summit in Atlanta, GA, on October 12, 2024. “I knew when I was in college I didn’t have no money to do my hair. Yes, I braided hair. I had a braiding business for four years. That’s how I was kind of making a little money. Outside of that, you kinda gotta do your own hair.”

Page’s haircare line is still in the works, but she has hinted at products that will specifically assist with protective styles, such as mousse and edge control, aimed at simplifying hair maintenance for Black women.

Since her victory on the reality show, which included a shared prize of $100,000 with her boyfriend, Kordell Beckham, Page has enjoyed a series of lucrative partnerships with well-known brands like NYX Cosmetics, Dunkin’ Donuts, Spotify, and Cécred.

Despite her success as an influencer, Page is eager to transition into a businesswoman by 2025.

Kordell Beckham has been a steadfast supporter of Page’s ventures, expressing his pride in her accomplishments.

“I really get a kick out of seeing other people’s lives change and other things that they have going on where it’s greatness for them, and that just makes me smile,” he told AfroTech. “Especially, my girl. She got something going on, I love it. Every time she’ll tell me, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, you should do that.’ Supportive… When she’s getting that bread, that’s all I love.”

Serena Page is set to revolutionize the haircare industry for college students, combining her past experiences with a bright future ahead.
