A social media post by Iman (Blushimaan) is resonating with thousands online after she opened up about navigating pregnancy while mourning the sudden loss of her mother.
In an emotional Instagram message, the expectant mother, who is pregnant at 41, described the deep pain of losing her mother during what she called a pivotal moment in her life.
“I wake up feeling lost most days,” she wrote. “What I would do to hug my mother one last time and tell her I love her. This feels like a nightmare I can’t wake up from.”

Coping With Loss During Pregnancy
Iman shared that her mother’s passing came unexpectedly, leaving her to process grief while preparing for the arrival of her first child.
“My mom leaving so sudden during a time I need her the most is surreal,” she wrote, adding that she continues to draw strength from her mother’s words and memory.
Despite the emotional toll, she expressed determination not to be overwhelmed by grief.
“I have so many emotions about this, but I won’t let this pain defeat me,” she said.
Turning to Healing and Reflection
In a video accompanying the post, Iman outlined her plan to begin a healing journey, including documenting her experience through a digital diary.
She revealed that she traveled to Isla Mujeres — a destination historically associated with women healers — seeking peace and reflection.
“This island was called that because they were known for their women healers for centuries,” she said. “That inspired me to get on my journey of healing.”
Iman said the experience has been both uplifting and painful, especially as she navigates milestones she once hoped to share with her mother.
“It’s bittersweet because I want to call my mom and tell her,” she said.
Finding Strength in Motherhood
The expectant mother described her pregnancy as both unexpected and meaningful. Having believed she might not have children, she said the experience now feels like a source of purpose during her grief.
“I thought this baby thing was a chapter that I missed,” she explained. “So to be pregnant now and to be going through this is just so insane — but also God’s beauty.”
She added that focusing on her child has helped her cope with the loss.
“I know I have to heal for my child,” she said. “In order to be even half the mother my mom was, I’m going to have to face this.”
Building an Online Support System
Iman plans to share her journey on social media platforms, including TikTok, inviting others who have experienced similar loss to connect and support one another.
“I’m sure there’s other women who have experienced this,” she said. “I’m just happy to have a community beside me.”
Her story has sparked conversations online about grief, motherhood, and resilience — particularly among women facing major life transitions while coping with loss.
As she continues her journey, Iman says she hopes her openness will not only help her heal but also offer comfort to others navigating similar experiences.
