A 20-year-old California woman is using social media to demand accountability and dignity following the killing of her father, Keith Porter Jr.
Porter was fatally shot on New Year’s Eve by an off-duty U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Northridge, California.
Aniyah Porter, who posts on TikTok under the handle @uhhnya, shared an emotional video this week describing the loss of her father and urging the public not to treat his death as just another headline.
Her message has resonated widely, drawing thousands of views and an outpouring of grief, solidarity, and calls for justice in the comments.
“My dad’s dead,” Porter said in the video. “This isn’t something you just scroll past. This is my real life. Please respect him. Say his name.”

Keith Porter Jr. was a father of two daughters, ages 10 and 20. His killing has left a family grieving and searching for answers, as questions continue to surround the circumstances under which the off-duty federal agent used lethal force. At the time of publication, authorities have not publicly detailed whether criminal or internal investigations are ongoing.
Porter’s mother, Franceola Armstrong, has since launched a GoFundMe campaign to support Keith’s daughters as they navigate life without their father. According to the family, the funds will be used to help cover housing stability, education costs, emotional support, and other long-term needs for the children.
Community response has been swift and emotional. Commenters across TikTok and Facebook have expressed heartbreak, anger, and support, urging accountability and echoing Aniyah Porter’s call to keep her father’s name in the public conversation. Messages of condolence and demands for justice have poured in, reflecting broader national concerns about law enforcement accountability and the use of force by federal agents.
The case has also reignited debate around the conduct of ICE officers, particularly when off duty, and the broader impact of law enforcement violence on Black families. Civil rights advocates say the incident underscores long-standing demands for transparency, independent investigations, and consequences when officers violate the law.
For Aniyah Porter, the motivation to speak out is deeply personal.
“Justice for Keith Porter Jr.,” she said. “Black Lives Matter.”
As the family mourns, supporters say continuing to amplify Keith Porter Jr.’s story is about more than remembrance—it is about ensuring accountability and protecting other families from similar loss.
