Lil Uzi Vert has opened up about the depth of his bond with City Girls rapper JT, shedding light on how her unwavering support and natural talent inspire them personally and professionally.

The typically private rapper got candid in a recent interview, sharing how JT plays a pivotal role in their life, from being their biggest emotional support to sparking their creativity.

The well-known romance between Jatavia Johnson, widely recognized as JT from the rap duo City Girls, and Symere Woods, the versatile rapper Lil Uzi Vert, has fascinated fans and gossip publications.

A few months to the end of JT’s prison sentence, she was sent to a halfway house in Atlanta, Georgia. It was there that she had her first date with Lil Uzi.

In 2019, a tabloid website claimed that JT and Uzi were on the verge of becoming a trendy couple. Around the same period, he made a brief Instagram story post that he soon deleted, suggesting that the two were enjoying each other’s company.

After a leaked conversation with his ex in March 2021, Uzi declared JT to be “the one.” Their relationship quickly became a fan favorite, as their star power and undeniable chemistry captivated audiences.

JT and Uzi’s relationship had its challenges, too. Break-up rumors arose several times, fueled by cryptic social media posts and periods of unfollowing one another. In April 2023, it was reported that they had officially split, but neither party confirmed the news.

Despite the ups and downs, Lil Uzi seems to have found a romantic partner and a true muse and collaborator in JT.

Uzi shared with Complex News, “She really inspires me a lot. She gives me the room to have the freedom of my creative space. And she never really judges me on anything that I ever do. She’s very supportive, especially in times like right now. She’s like the only person in my life that really supports me and makes sure that I’m mentally okay.”

The rapper also revealed that he admires JT’s artistic abilities and seeks her guidance in certain areas. “I want to sit down and really work with her, and I want to really pick her brain because she’s really good at it as an artist. And to me, there are pockets that she knows how to do that I don’t know how to do, like on some rapping sh*t. And she just does it naturally,” he said.
