Unbothered and unbothered-er. That’s the energy Nicki Minaj is giving after her $19.5 million Hidden Hills mansion was swarmed by law enforcement over a false report. Nicki didn’t go on a rant. She didn’t tweet. She didn’t drop legal threats. Nope! She posted a video. And not just any video. We’re talking sheer, lacy, jaw-dropping elegance with a heavy dose of “I’m still that girl.”
On Wednesday night, chaos briefly surrounded Nicki’s luxury home in the San Fernando Valley after a swatting incident sent LA County Sheriff’s deputies rushing to the scene. The caller (still unidentified) reported that a female Black adult had been shot, along with two suspects still lurking. Serious stuff. But when authorities arrived around 7:05 p.m., nobody was home.
Although a representative from the Sheriff’s Department did not verify if it was indeed Nicki’s home, a resident informed the Times that law enforcement had visited her property. Additionally, the call was said to have been made through the business line, complicating tracing efforts, which is often indicative of swatting.
According to TMZ, Nicki wasn’t even on the West Coast when this all went down. So, who called it in? Why target her? And, more importantly, how did she react?
Well… she didn’t flinch.
Instead, the 42-year-old rap icon logged into Instagram and dropped what fans are now calling “the calmest clapback in history.” The post is a close-up, makeup-free, effortlessly sexy video of Nicki in a white lace bodysuit with sheer mesh panels and floral detailing. Her hair? Wet or slicked back, either way, serving.
No captions. No drama. Just vibes.
This isn’t the first instance of law enforcement answering swatting calls at Nicki’s residence. In June 2023, officers visited her home following a false tip regarding child abuse. A month later, they responded to another bogus report of a shooting. Nicki ultimately confronted the woman responsible for orchestrating the 2023 incidents.
For someone who’s been in the public eye for over a decade, Nicki Minaj knows how to control her narrative. She didn’t let a fake emergency derail her peace or her post. In fact, if anything, it reminded everyone that the Queen of Rap doesn’t just rap… she reigns.
