A growing conversation around stress and health among Black women is gaining momentum online after a wellness initiative shared its mission to create spaces dedicated to rest, healing, and balance.
The project, promoted by B-omi Farms on Instagram, centers on transforming farmland into a luxury wellness retreat designed with Black women in mind.
According to the creators, the idea grew out of a troubling statistic: 51% of Black women report experiencing stress that significantly impacts their health.
“Did you know that 51% of Black women report that stress significantly impacts their health?” the narrator says in a voiceover video posted by the group.

Creating Space for Rest
The founders say the retreat is being built from the ground up as a place where women can step away from daily pressures and focus on their well-being.
“Which is why we invested in farmland and turned it into a luxury wellness resort for me and you,” the narrator explains.
The project is a family-led effort, with the founder inviting viewers to follow along as she and her mother develop the property.
“We’re building everything from the ground up, and I would love for y’all to join my mom and I along this journey,” she said.
Addressing Stress and Health
Health advocates have long highlighted how chronic stress can contribute to serious physical and mental health challenges, including high blood pressure, heart disease, and burnout.
For many Black women, conversations around stress often include factors such as workplace pressures, caregiving responsibilities, and social expectations that can make rest feel like a luxury rather than a necessity.
The message from the wellness project pushes back on that idea.
“It’s time we prioritize relaxation,” the narrator said in the video, adding that women should not feel guilty about taking breaks.
A Growing Wellness Movement
Across social media, Black women are increasingly sharing conversations about rest, nervous system regulation, and collective healing, often framing self-care as both a health priority and a form of empowerment.
The B-omi Farms initiative aims to contribute to that movement by creating a physical space dedicated to wellness and community.
“We deserve it,” the narrator concluded.
Supporters online say projects like this highlight a broader shift toward prioritizing health, balance, and restoration for Black women, whose contributions to families, workplaces, and communities often come with significant personal stress.
