Woman Says Insecure Men Hate Their Women So Much They’ll Try To Trap Them With Pregnancy: ‘They Wanted to Sit Me Down’

Salon owner and content creator TPT JasBadd (@jasminbadd) has shared a thought-provoking life story online about her decision not to have children — a choice she says comes from recognizing how some men use pregnancy as a form of control rather than partnership.

In a candid video shared to Instagram, the 36-year-old businesswoman and influencer, known for her viral “Hair & Girly Things” content, reflected on what she calls a pattern of insecure men trying to limit her freedom. Her post, which has been viewed tens of thousands of times, struck a chord across social media.

“I’m 36. I’m a business owner. I don’t have children and I don’t want children,” she began. “I made this decision years ago because I realized men only wanted to have children with me for two reasons — for my looks and because they wanted to ‘sit me down.’”

JasBadd went on to describe how some former partners expressed resentment toward her independence and success.

“Once I realized that men only wanted to trap me and had this obsession with being the first to be my baby daddy, I was very selective about who I laid down with,” she said. “One even told me, ‘You need to have a baby, you need to sit down.’ He hated the freedom that I have.”

Her frank admission highlights a rarely discussed but deeply personal topic: how societal pressure and gender expectations can intertwine with relationships and career ambition — particularly for successful Black women.

‘They Hated That I Was Winning’

The Baltimore entrepreneur recalled another encounter after returning home to rebuild her business.

“When I moved back to Baltimore, I was struggling — my account was in the negative,” she shared. “A guy I used to talk to said, ‘Once you get back on your feet, we’ll have a baby.’ I asked him, ‘How is that benefiting me?’”

She later reflected that the same man now earns less than she does, adding that the experience reinforced her resolve to protect her autonomy:

“Once I realized men only wanted to trap me and have a reason to keep me around, I was like, oh no — I don’t want no kids. I’m good.”

Instead, she said she would prefer to adopt or foster children one day, calling it a more compassionate and conscious decision than bringing a child into what she described as “this Jacob-esque world.”

Empowerment Through Transparency

Her message“Insecure men will hate you so much, they’ll get you pregnant” — has been praised by many women online for its unfiltered honesty. Thousands commented in support, thanking JasBadd for giving voice to feelings of frustration about relationships that punish women for their ambition.

“JESUS!!! And once you peep game you will NEVER allow the bullshit. Men want to humble beautiful souls SO bad, but God’s light and love always wins. Keep shining Queen 🩷,” one person commented.

Her story resonates with many women, particularly in an era where more women are publicly rejecting traditional expectations around marriage and motherhood, choosing instead to build lives centered on self-fulfillment, financial independence, and emotional safety.

As JasBadd put it succinctly:

“They really wanted me to be miserable. But I’m comfortable, I’m thriving, and I’m free.”
