Meagan Good’s Marvel star boyfriend, Jonathan Majors’s former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, has sued him for defamation and assault.
News of the new lawsuit claim broke out after Good and Majors made their first red-carpet appearance at the NAACP Image Awards.
Meagan Good revealed that she has “peace” and “joy” in her heart in the relationship.
Shortly after, Jonathan Majors was sued by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, for alleged assault, battery, and defamation.
Jabbari claims the documented incidents date between 2021 and 2023.
According to reports, the recent lawsuit, filed in New York federal court on Tuesday, accused Majors of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution, and defamation.
One of the alleged incidents submitted occurred in September 2022. According to the lawsuit, after a verbal altercation, Jonathan “pushed Grace so hard that it bruised her backside,” “picked Grace up in the air and threw her against the hood of her car,” and “brought Grace back into their house and held his hands around her neck, stating that he wanted to kill her and was going to kill her.”
It continues that Majors then began hitting Grace’s head against the marble floor while strangling her until she felt unable to breathe. When Grace told Jonathan she wanted to go to the police, he told her not to because they would ask questions.
According to Jabbari’s testimony, this evidence was initially presented during the first trial. Still, it was not used as evidence to determine his verdict.
Court documents also alleged that although Jonathan Majors was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault against Jabbari from a March 2023 altercation in New York City last December, he proceeded to smear her image after the verdict.
The defamation claim stems from a “Good Morning America” interview Majors gave following his conviction, in which the actor stated that he “never laid [his] hands on a woman.”
Jabbari has concerns about Jonathan’s “innocence,” saying he portrayed Grace as a woman scorned rather than an abuse victim in his GMA interview, which is causing her emotional stress.
“The false statements that Majors made personally, and through his authorized agent Chaudhry, not only called Plaintiff’s truthfulness and integrity into question, but also exposed her to public hatred, contempt, ridicule, and disgrace,” the lawsuit said.
Jabbari requested another jury trial and is seeking unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.
While Jonathan Majors is yet to be sentenced on April 8 and would likely face up to a year in prison, he is set to be sentenced on April 8. Initially set for February, the sentencing was delayed to resolve defense motions.
