The custody battle between Halle Bailey and DDG over their 18-month-old son, Halo, just took another turn! While Halle has largely been on the winning side in this ongoing legal drama, DDG has finally secured his first win.

A Los Angeles judge has granted DDG visitation rights to see his 18-month-old son, Halo, in Italy, where Halle is currently filming her latest project. However, before anyone breaks out the “fatherhood win” balloons, the judge made it clear: this visitation is to occur strictly under supervision and not with any family member.

Back in May, Halle Bailey was granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, YouTuber and rapper DDG, after accusing him of physical and verbal abuse. The order required DDG to stay 100 yards away from Halle and their son and barred him from speaking about them publicly or on social media. Halle was also given the green light to travel internationally with Halo for work, specifically to Italy, without interference.

Fast forward to this week. DDG and his attorney, Larry Bakman, filed a formal request to visit Halo in Rome at the end of the month. DDG initially requested that his mother accompany him as the supervisor for the visit. But Halle’s legal team, led by attorney Jeremy Lane, pushed back hard on that idea, citing concerns that DDG’s mom has allegedly enabled his past behavior, per details included in Halle’s custody filings.

As a compromise, Judge Latrice A.G. Byrdsong ruled that DDG could visit his son in Italy, but only under the supervision of a professional monitor, not his mother. The court considered the visit to be a “reasonable” request. However, DDG is still unable to post about the visit or share any images of his son on social media.

That means no YouTube vlogs. No Instagram Reels. No sneak peek photos. Nothing.

Both legal teams are now working to secure an appropriate monitor in Italy who can accompany DDG during the visit. The court will revisit the arrangement at the next hearing, scheduled for June 26.

For those keeping track, this marks DDG’s first court-approved visitation since Halle filed for custody earlier this year, a move she said was necessary for Halo’s safety.

So, while this may be a step forward for DDG, it’s clear that trust is still being rebuilt, if at all. And until a final custody agreement is reached, every move will be closely monitored (literally and legally).

Now, all eyes are on the June 26 hearing.
