Actress, comedian, and outspoken cultural commentator Amanda Seales is making headlines after a fiery live video in which she pushed back against claims that Kamala Harris, as president, would have handled tensions with Iran more peacefully than Donald Trump.
Seales, known for her unfiltered political takes and advocacy for Black empowerment, took to social media to call out what she described as blind idealism about Harris’s political record.
“Anyone in here who’s speaking definitively, like we know Kamala wouldn’t have bombed Iran — I don’t even understand how you can make such a statement,” Seales said in a live broadcast reshared by @livebitez. “What is it about this woman that she has shown you that makes you think she is like some peaceful, namaste, like auntie?”
Seales sharply criticized Harris’s past actions and public statements, pointing to her self-branding as a “top cop,” her marriage to a Zionist, and her strong stance on national defense during the 2020 campaign.
“When she ran on her campaign, she said, ‘I’m going to be just like Joe Biden.’ She literally, in her DNC speech, said she will make sure America remains the most lethal military,” Seales noted, referencing the 2020 Democratic National Convention. “She said in her ABC interview that Iran is our biggest enemy.”
Seales also expressed confusion at the narrative that paints Harris as inherently peaceful or progressive on foreign policy.
“I don’t know anybody in the Bay that gets down with Kamala,” she added, referring to Harris’s home region of the San Francisco Bay Area.
The criticism comes amid renewed scrutiny of the U.S. approach to Iran following recent escalations in the Middle East. Trump recently ordered the use of B-2 Spirit stealth bombers, known as a Massive Ordnance Penetrator, to drop bombs on nuclear sites in central Iran as part of efforts scuttle Iran’s nuclear program.
While Harris has remained publicly aligned with President Biden’s national security agenda, public debate over how she might act independently as commander-in-chief continues to swirl.
Seales’s comments ignited conversation on social media, with some praising her for confronting what they saw as political delusion, while others defended Harris and viewed the critique as harsh or dismissive of her accomplishments.
This is not the first time Seales has taken a critical stance on establishment politics and, in particular, against Kamala Harris. The former Insecure star and host of Smart, Funny & Black frequently uses her platform to challenge mainstream narratives and demand deeper accountability from political figures — especially those representing marginalized communities.

While some applauded Seales for challenging what she sees as performative idealism, others pushed back on both her timing and her tone.
“The problem that people have lays in the time and place,” wrote @_Miugler. “Don’t negate the fight while we have no other weapons bby. Give us options instead of just telling us we wrong lol.”
Another user, @reesetheone1, pointed to Harris’s likely policy intentions:
“I think Harris would have tried to get back to the Iran nuclear deal FIRST.”
They referenced the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), brokered by the Obama administration and later scrapped by President Trump — a decision many argue worsened U.S.–Iran relations.
But not all reactions were diplomatic.
@AshariExpresses fired back at Seales’s personal critique of Harris’s marriage and foreign policy record:
“Idgaf who Kamala Harris married. That’s nobody’s business. Iran is our greatest enemy. Why tf do y’all think they aren’t a part of NATO? Like has she [Seales] not paid attention to any history while she was in school?”
